Faith and Fellowship: The Juggling Act

Location: Phase 2 Classroom on Sundays

When: September 8 - November 10, Sundays, 9:30 AM

Join a conversation about juggling all the important demands in your life: family, work, faith, and friendships. The faith conversations begin on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. in the Phase 2 classroom upstairs, led by Mark & Betsy Bass and Scott & Nancy Sharp. These discussions take shape on Wednesday nights when you drop your kids off at the church at 5:15 p.m. for a free supper, activities, missions, and children’s choir until 7:00 p.m. Meanwhile, you can enjoy fellowship on a date with your spouse, with a friend, at a Wednesday night class, or with our Phase 2 group at a nearby restaurant.

Faith and Life in the Quantum Age

Instructor: Larry Payne

Location: Circle Classroom

When: September 11 - October 16, Wednesdays, 6 PM - 7 PM

Can our ancient faith offer the “abundant life” of Jesus in today’s chaotic world? The Quantum Age introduces radically different beliefs about God, humanity, and ethics. Process Theology offers a dynamic perspective by integrating these modern ideas with Biblical truths. Participants will gain practical insights for living in a complex society, with a free chapter from the upcoming book provided each week. The six sessions include:

  • We’re Not in Kansas Anymore (Today’s Worldview from Grandpa’s Porch)
  • Surfing with God (Process Theology for Our Best Life in the Quantum Age)
  • A Ghost on the Water (God, Brain, and a Buddy)
  • Hugs and Kisses Forever (God’s Love for Free People)
  • Living the Good Life (God’s Good in a Bad Place)
  • God Ain’t Done Yet (Co-Workers for Shalom)

In his 50-year ministry, Larry Payne has served as a pastor, hospital chaplain, administrator, licensed counselor, and podcast creator. He and his wife, Jan, have been members of 2b since 2019.
