Additional pay will be made available for extended youth events such as retreats, conferences, camps, and other over-night activities.
General Description:
Equip a female youth leader to serve actively in female students' spiritual, emotional, and relational formation.
Reports to:
Youth Pastor
Job Responsibilities (as follows, but not limited to):
- Mission-Driven Outreach: As part of outreach, this leader will look for creative ways to spend quality time with the girls in their worlds—attending their activities, being a safe and uplifting presence, and supporting their unique interests.
- Active Discipleship: She will initiate gatherings outside regular services, creating intimate, faith-centered hangouts where girls can ask questions, share their faith, and support each other.
- Intentional relationship building with female middle school and high school students
- Creating an inclusive, accepting, and cohesive environment for all attending 2b Youth-sanctioned events inside and outside of the church
- Foster an environment of trust and encouragement among 2b Youth female students so that the students are there to support one another and learn to live in community with others
- Help all 2b Youth students explore their gifts and find places where they can use them to love God and Love All Now
- Collaboratively work alongside the Youth Pastor and volunteer youth leaders to disciple and empower female students with opportunities to lead and serve in varying roles and capacities at Second Baptist and outside of the church
Expectations For The Applicant:
- A commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord as evidenced by growing in spiritual maturity
- Ability to speak Bible-based truth and principles into the lives of youth with the intent of creating personal application
- Experience in Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry, or non-ministry-related youth programs
- Weekly updates and check-ins with the Youth Pastor regarding the ministry
- Communication with students and parents as directed by the Youth Pastor
- Adaptability and flexibility as ministry programs and plans may change
- A spirit and practice of promoting trust and unity within the church
