At Second B, worship is at the heart of who we are. It’s where we come together—multi-generational, inclusive, and diverse—to glorify God and celebrate the gifts each person brings.
Here, you’ll find a space that honors the beauty of tradition while embracing the creativity of today. Our worship combines the richness of historic liturgical practices with fresh, contemporary elements. Whether you’re a longtime churchgoer or just exploring faith, we welcome you with open arms.
At Second B, there’s no dress code—come in a suit, jeans, or whatever makes you comfortable. Our services are reverent yet warm, featuring choirs, processionals, responsive readings, and robed leaders, balanced by an inviting and joyful atmosphere.
Every Sunday offers a unique and vibrant experience:
Children are always welcome and play an important part in our worship. Above all, our services are filled with joy, connection, and a shared sense of purpose.
We’d love for you to join us for a worship experience that uplifts, inspires, and draws us closer to Christ and each other. No matter who you are or where you come from, there’s a place for you at Second B.
At Second Baptist Lubbock, our 2b Kids Ministry offers a fun, safe, and secure environment for children from birth through 5th grade to explore ministry and personal growth. Our program emphasizes three core values: Scripture and Bible Study, Relationships, and Worship.
We believe that the Bible stories children hear at church and home lay a spiritual foundation for their lives. Our Sunday morning Bible study classes at 9:30 am use a rotation curriculum model, dividing classes by grade (1st and 2nd grade; 3rd through 5th grade). Students engage with Bible stories over several weeks through various activities.
Building relationships with Christ, significant adults, youth, and peers is vital. We facilitate this through summer camps, church-wide fellowships, and missions education, helping children connect with Christ and others.
Children are welcome in worship at 2b. Pre-K and Kindergarteners start in the worship center and participate in a special children's time before moving to the children's wing for age-appropriate activities. Older children (1st–5th grade) are invited to lead worship as acolytes, scripture readers, and members of our children's choir.
At Second Baptist Church, our 2b Youth Ministry aims to empower students to become faithful followers of Christ. Through Bible study and discussion, we encourage intentional living and provide a safe space for students to explore deep and challenging questions. Our ministry is built on three core values:
We prioritize honesty, even when it's difficult. Our goal is to create a safe environment where students can share their questions or doubts without fear or shame.
We are an inclusive community that celebrates each individual's uniqueness. We encourage youth to interact with people of all ages at Second Baptist to foster healthy relationships. Additionally, our youth participate in community service projects.
Our youth regularly engage in service projects within our community, embodying the teachings of Christ through action.
At Second Baptist Church, our Adult Ministry provides opportunities to grow in faith, build meaningful relationships, and enrich your spiritual journey. Whether through Sunday morning studies, midweek gatherings, or special retreats, there’s a place for everyone to connect and thrive.
Each Sunday at 9:30 AM, we offer Bible study classes designed to help you explore faith and scripture in meaningful ways. These classes are led by experienced and passionate leaders who create a welcoming environment for learning and growth.
Our groups cover a variety of subjects and teaching styles, ensuring there’s something for everyone. We invite you to visit, find a group that fits your needs, and experience the joy of growing in community.
